Honda Mugen CR-Z Review

The Mugen-tuned Honda CR-Z  is a one-off prototype from Honda’s go-to tuners, Mugen. And we dearly hope it gets put into production.

The performance comes courtesy of a reprogrammed Integrated Motor Assist and a good old-fashioned blower atop the 1.5-liter gasoline powerplant. According to Mugen Euro’s Colin Whittamore, “A supercharger and complementary electronics allow us to very neatly map the IMA to the extra power and torque of the engine in a unique package, giving a smooth, integrated and powerful driving experience.”

2013 Mercedes GL

Everything has been thrown at the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class to make it not only the largest SUV Mercedes offers, but the equivalent of a jacked-up S-Class.  Larger, prettier, and even more luxurious inside, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL Class aims to keep pushing the model’s 25,000 yearly sales (as of 2011) to new heights.

SUV Bentley EXP 9 F

The Geneva Motor show 2012 which went underway recently, was also the center stage for one Bentley Motors latest creation. Bentley has released pictures of its new SUV, the EXP 9 F. Bentley’s publicists tout the car as “a pinnacle of luxury performance SUV design concept,” but nowhere in their press report do they mention that it essentially looks like an overgrown Hot Wheels car. They are, however, quite excited by the “turbine theme” used to trick out the air intakes and hubcaps.

The New 2012 Bentley Mulsanne

The New 2012 Bentley Mulsanne

The New 2012 Bentley Mulsanne

The new Bentley Mulsanne is a thoroughly modern flagship that captures the essence of the Bentley marque. It is elegant yet distinctly sporting in character, delivering effortless performance while within its sumptuous cabin, advanced technology sits discreetly with handcrafted luxury.

The Mulsanne covers ground like a fairy-tale giant, quicker and nimbler than you expect. You feel its prodigious momentum, yet there’s no clumsiness; an adjustable air suspension keeps the car flat and poised through curves. The car might seem unstoppable, but huge brakes halt this dreadnought in surprisingly short order.

For the ultraluxury sedan shopper who might flinch at the Mulsanne’s as-tested $333,885 price, there are V-12 executive flagships from BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi that offer the Bentley’s on-road prowess at less than half the price. Still, with just 700 to 800 Mulsannes expected to be built in Crewe, England.

The design of the new Bentley Mulsanne  is a unique fusion of sportiness, coachbuilt elegance and solidity. Echoing the Bentley S -Type of the 1950s, the Mulsanne features a bold frontal design dominated by the traditional Bentley matrix grille and highly prominent, classic round inner headlamps with chrome surrounds, flanked by two, smaller outboard lamp clusters, all featuring the latest in lighting technology. The iconic ‘Flying B’ retractable radiator mascot is available as an option.
